Paul has been playing the pipes since 1972 and was originally taught by Pipe-Major Bert Barron BEM, one of Scotland's leading players and teachers. Over the years he has played with several prizewinning bands and has appeared on TV and radio. More recently, he has played as a guest with the Band of the Royal Corps of Signals and the Band of the King's Division, accompanying the brilliant young singer Faryl Smith. He also plays with folk trio Tobias, featuring talented singer-songwriters Tony Beysens and Lol Moran.

A fluent German and French speaker, he also has a smattering of Russian and Japanese. Paul is available to add that certain flourish to special events such as corporate events, weddings, funerals or other special occasions. He will always appear in Highland dress suitable for the occasion, wearing either Muted Hunting Robertson (green) or Royal Stewart (red) tartan. Click here to see the alternatives. He has a large repertoire, which includes many popular marches, strathspeys, reels, jigs, hornpipes, laments and slow airs. Click here for some sample tunes and videos. He will also play for Highland and ceilidh dancing.

He lives in Warwickshire, within easy reach of Warwick, Leamington Spa, Birmingham and the West Midlands, and will travel to any part of the UK or abroad, even at short notice. He is available seven days a week. Previous clients include the British Tourist Authority, the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust, The Royal Shakespeare Company and the German TV channel ZDF. Paul has extensive experience of trade fairs and exhibitions. His skill at piping has taken Paul to most of Europe, Canada and the USA.

As a quieter alternative to the Highland bagpipes, Paul also plays the Scottish small pipes. Click here to experience their unique sound.
